Dropbox on the Mac has slowly been expanding its feature set and how it works, and today, the latest beta adds the option to sync your documents, downloads, and desktop. In my testing (download folder only), it worked as advertised. Once enabled, there will be a My Mac folder in your dropbox that will contain all of your downloads folder.

One of the best reasons to use a cloud storage service like Dropbox is that it gives you access to your synchronized files from any computer.

This means that if you ever switch computers, and need to load all your files onto the new workstation, you don't have to worry about a thing.

I have access to my Dropbox folder through my iMac, Macbook Pro, and my iPhone. The Dropbox folder is synced across all machines. It's very easy to grant open access to your Dropbox folder on other machines. All you need to do is download and install the Dropbox application on each computer/device and sign in to the same account. Download Dropbox - Backup, Sync, Share and enjoy it on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. ‎Dropbox lets anyone upload and transfer files to the cloud, and share them with anyone. Back up and sync docs, photos, videos, and other files to cloud storage and access them from any device, no matter where you are. To download Dropbox for Mac, look for the Dropbox installer on dropbox.com. Once the download of the Dropbox installer is complete, you should be able to find it (DropboxInstaller.dmg) in your Mac's Downloads folder. Open the file to start your Dropbox download app: Double-click on the Dropbox icon in the installer window.

Just log into Dropbox, find the file, and download it to wherever you happen to be — no payment or easy-to-lose USB sticks required.
